The Bizmobile has arrived
MOBILE, AL – February 16, 2007 -- The much anticipated arrival of the Women’s Business Center, Inc.’s (WBC) Bizmobile has occurred. The vehicle was unveiled to the public on February 16, 2007 at a breakfast held at the WBC offices on Azalea Road in Mobile.
“We are very excited to have received a new round of funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration,” said Women’s Business Center, Inc. founder and executive director Kathryn Cariglino, “which has allowed us to acquire the Bizmobile vehicle and add staff so that we can now serve the rural communities in seven counties of south Alabama.”

At the unveiling in Mobile, John Williams, Mobile’s newly elected city councilman, presented the WBC with a proclamation from the City of Mobile. Alabama State Senator Bradley Byrne also attended the event and presented the WBC with a proclamation from the absent Governor Bob Riley. Pastor Gayle Baughman of Wilmer United Methodist Church blessed the vehicle along with its drivers, Kathryn Cariglino, Sylvia Browder and Sherman Blosser, prior to its departure for Chatom, Alabama.

The Bizmobile traveled to Chatom to celebrate the WBC’s new services being brought to Washington County. Mayor Pro Tem Cleophos Stephens welcomed the vehicle and visitors. He also presented the WBC with a proclamation from the Town of Chatom.
Following light refreshments, the Bizmobile caravan drove to Jackson City Hall in Clarke County. Guests ate lunch catered by Doshia’s Inc., a local women-owned business. Mayor Richard Long welcomed the Bizmobile and the WBC to Jackson.

The day ended at 3:30 p.m. with a celebration at the Escambia County Industrial Development Authority in Atmore, Alabama. Mayor Howard Shell presented the WBC with a proclamation from the City of Atmore recognizing the day.

The vehicle was wrapped by The Sign Studio located in Mobile, AL. Other cars in the caravan sported magnetic signs with the same Bizmobile logo as the vehicle. The magnetic signs were donated to WBC by The Sign Studio.
